Give Goods

We accept donations of food and personal care items that we can distribute in our pantry. Please do not donate clothing, household items, or other miscellaneous items as we do not have storage space or need for them.

If you have fresh food to donate, please come during our staff hours as this allows us to process your donation and get food into our refrigerator or freezer. Our staff hours sometimes vary, but generally are Monday 8:30am-4:30pm, Tuesday 12pm-7pm, Wednesday 8:30am-4:30pm, or Thursday 8:30am-4:30pm.

Non-perishable food/other donations may be brought in during our staff hours (above) or you may place these donations in our drop box (located near our back door, off the parking lot at the community center).

Please help us reduce food waste and save staff/volunteer time by checking food dates before you donate. We can use many items past their expiration dates. For more information about the shelf life guidelines we use, click here or visit FoodKeeper App to download the FoodKeeper app developed by the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service or use the web-based version.

If you need to make other donation arrangements or have any questions, call us at 503.873.3446.

Will/Trust

Naming SACA in your will or trust will help our programs remain strong, and promote food and housing security.

How to make a SACA gift plan from your will or trust:

You can leave lasting support for SACA programs by planning to designate Silverton Area Community Aid as a beneficiary of your will, trust, retirement account, life insurance policy, or other asset. This plan is also known as a bequest or legacy gift.

The language of a bequest is important, but it does not need to be complex. If you would like to include SACA, here is an example: “I hereby give and bequeath____________ (a specific gift or a percentage of the residue of my estate) to Silverton Area Community Aid whose legal address is PO Box 1305, Silverton Oregon 97381, tax ID 93-0884237, for such purposes as Silverton Area Community Aid shall determine are in the best interest of SACA programs.”

We encourage you to ask your attorney or accountant, about the potential tax benefits (for you and your heirs) of including charitable organizations in your will or trust. We'd also like to encourage you to notify us of your gift so we may understand your interest in SACA and thank you in ways that are meaningful to you.

We hope you will consider including SACA in your gift planning. You can contact SACA for more information.
